Whether it is a good antivirus scanner, a free art program, or even a whole new operating system, when it is good, we put it here. AVG Free: A good antivirus program that is free and has free updates. Checks email and running programs also.
Ubuntu: A user-friendly version of Linux you can try on CD before installing. Server and Desktop editions. Very nice.
DriveImage XML: A very good free drive and partition backup program. Similar to Norton Ghost, but better.
MBAM: A nice free spyware and malware removal tool. Will get rid of a lot of stuff that other programs don't.
UBCD: A very good bootable diagnostic CD to troubleshoot computers.
BartPE: A program that lets you create a bootable Windows CD/DVD.
GoodSync: Very good file sync and backup tool. Many options. Free trial.
